Assam Rifles seizes 9,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 18 crores

AGARTALA, October 30, 2024: The Assam Rifles successfully recovered 9,000 Yaba tablets from Narangbari in Tripura on the eve of Diwali Wednesday. The operation resulted in the arrest of two peddlers and the seizure of one vehicle.
The detained men and seized drugs were handed over to the DRI in Agartala for further proceedings. These Yaba tablets are estimated to be worth a staggering Rs 18 crores in the international market.
The Assam Rifles claimed that this operation, based on specific intelligence, demonstrates their commitment to combatting drug trafficking and illegal smuggling activities in the region.
Wednesday’s seizure marks the fourth major drug bust by the Assam Rifles in the past two months.
