Advisory for devotees and pilgrims on Kumbh Mela

SHILLONG, April 07 2021: In line with the Central Government’s SOP issued on January 22 2021 for managing Covid-19 in the context of Kumbh Mela, the Uttarakhand Government has issued an advisory for pilgrims and visitors visiting the Kumbh Mela at Haridwar.
The advisory states that persons above 65 years of age and children below the age of 10 years, persons with comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension, cardiac, pulmonary and kidney ailments, immune compromised individuals, those suffering from cancer, cerebrovascular disorders, pregnant women etc. are advised not to visit the Kumbh Mela.
Pilgrims and visitors should also mandatorily register on Uttarakhand Government portal prior to their visit and shall install and use Aarogya Setu App at all times. All the visitors and pilgrims must produce a health certificate as per the prescribed format which is a mandatory requirement for entering Kumbh Mela area and they must also produce a Negative RT-PCR Test report for Covid-19 (tested within 72 hours) at the time of entry to the Mela area.
