AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Tuesday spoke on the importance of winning people's hearts through action rather than force. He asserted that the BJP-led government is committed to the overall development of the janajati (indigenous) community and has made several arrangements to honour the Maharajas and state's glorious past.
Dr Saha graced a BJP party rally and a joining programme at Jolaibari in South Tripura district.
He criticised past governance by the Congress and CPIM. He pointed out the significance of democracy in shaping state's future, stating that the people will now decide their leaders through votes, moving away from monarchy. He highlighted the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the janajatis and outlined the successful outcomes of the BJP in elections.
The Chief Minister further remarked that societal change can only occur through collective efforts, reiterating the party's dedication to fulfilling its promises for the development of the community. The meeting was attended by hundreds of people and community elders from the indigenous communities.
