NATIONAL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated the government's commitment to creating new opportunities for youth domestically and internationally. He said this while addressing the 18th National Rozgar Mela virtually from New Delhi Saturday.
He highlighted India's growing economy, noting it as the only global economy to have doubled its GDP in a decade and observed that over 100 countries are investing through Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), which has increased significantly since 2014 and is generating numerous job opportunities for the youth.
PM Modi referred to January 24 as a significant date, marking the recognition of "Jana Gana Mana" as the National Anthem and "Vande Mataram" as the National Song. He characterized the Rozgar Mela as an established institution, with hundreds of thousands of youths receiving appointment letters from various government departments. These letters symbolize an invitation to contribute to nation-building and guide the youth towards a prosperous India (Viksit Bharat). He noted the year 2026 as a pivotal moment coinciding with recent festivities.
During the event, appointment letters were handed out to over 61,000 newly recruited youths across 45 locations in the country integrating them into various ministries and departments within the Rozgar Mela initiative.
