Wingtips of Air India, IndiGo planes touch each other
NATIONAL: In an unusual incident at Mumbai airport Tuesday evening, the wingtips of an Air India and an IndiGo plane touched each other. Both Airbus A320 aircraft have been grounded for detail inspections.
The Air India flight AI2732 was preparing for takeoff when its wingtip made contact with the IndiGo flight causing damage. The IndiGo flight 6E791 was taxiing after landing when the incident occurred.
All passengers are safe, reports said.
A team from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation inspected the planes. The number of passengers on the planes is unknown.
