
NATIONAL: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that the government is closely monitoring the situation in West Asia and is committed to safeguarding the Indian citizens from any impact of the conflict. He made this statement while chairing a meeting of an Informal Group of Ministers, consisting of several senior ministers, in New Delhi Saturday.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the risks to energy supplies, domestic availability of essential commodities, critical infrastructure resilience and the robustness of India's supply chains in light of the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
In a social media post, the Minister mentioned that the meeting involved in-depth discussions on all the measures being taken by the government. The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Power Minister Manohar Lal, Health Minister JP Nadda and others.
