
REGIONAL: The Assam Rifles Commanders Conference 2025 convened Monday at the Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles in Laitkor, Shillong, under the leadership of Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, Director General of Assam Rifles. The event brought together Formation Commanders, Battalion Commanders and Staff Officers from various formations and headquarters.
General Lakhera praised the Force for their professional conduct amidst challenging circumstances and stressed the importance of securing the Indo-Myanmar Border and Kashmir Valley. He indicated that the Assam Rifles must be ready for future security challenges.
The conference highlighted discussions on enhancing operational capabilities and combat readiness, including plans to incorporate next-generation weaponry, share best practices and boost training initiatives. Notably, the Assam Rifles Rajbhasha Shield Yojna was awarded recognising 23 Assam Rifles for first place followed by 28 and 34 Assam Rifles in second and third.
General Lakhera commended the commanders for their role in maintaining peace and encouraged vigilance in response to the evolving security landscape. The conference concluded with a commitment to uphold high operational standards and pursue excellence across all areas.
