Saayoni Ghosh gets bail in attempt to murder case

Court granted her bail on a personal bond of Rs 20,000

AGARTALA, November 22 2021: Actor turned politician Saayoni Ghosh Monday secured bail from a court here a day after her arrest on attempt to murder charge. Advocate Shankar Lodh who defended West Bengal Youth Trinamool Congress President in the court said she was released on a personal bond of Rs 20,000.

The court directed Ghosh to cooperate with the investigation officer, but it did not impose any restriction on her travel.

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress All-India general secretary Abhishek Banerjee paid a brief visit to the state Monday, but could not attend his scheduled road-show after authorities refused permission. The programme was linked to ensuing elections to the 13 municipal bodies including the Agartala Municipal Corporation.

He urged people to cast vote in favour of Trinamool Congress for development of urban localities of the state.
