
NATIONAL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam on January 17-18. On January 17, he will attend the Traditional Bodo Cultural Programme at Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati, where over 10,000 artists from the Bodo community will perform the Bagurumba dance, symbolising harmony with nature and cultural significance tied to festivals such as Bwisagu.
On January 18, the Prime Minister will lay foundation stone for the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor Project that will be constructed at a cost of ₹6,950 crore. This includes an 86 km long National Highway project with 35 km as an Elevated Wildlife Corridor.
This initiative aims to enhance regional connectivity while protecting biodiversity, particularly for Kaziranga National Park.
Prime Minister will also flag off two Amrit Bharat Express train services aimed at strengthening rail connectivity between Northeast India and Northern India improving travel safety and convenience for the people.
