Nepal and IR Iran to clash in women’s tri-nation tournament
India is the other country in the tournament being played at Shillong

REGIONAL, October 23, 2025: The women’s football teams of Nepal and IR Iran set to face off Friday in the Women’s Tri-Nation International Tournament at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Nepal head coach Nabin Neupane said his team is well-prepared and determined to secure all three points. Neupane, who has visited Shillong before, acknowledged that both India and Iran are strong opponents but expressed confidence in his team’s readiness to give their best performance over the full 90 minutes.
On the other hand, IR Iran head coach Marziyeh Jafaribaravati praised the Nepal team, describing them as a strong side, and said the upcoming clash would be an exciting contest.
She added that her squad has been working to correct its shortcomings and is fully focused on delivering a strong performance.
