Fresh controversy in TU, finance officer’s caste fake

AGARTALA, November 4, 2019: After Vice Chancellor VL Dharurkar had to resign owing bribery charges, another controversy created pall of gloom in Tripura University, a central university.

University’s Finance Officer Uttam Das faces proceedings after his scheduled caste (SC) certificate found to be false. Probes undertook by two committees confirmed his SC certificate fake and made-up.   

The authorities have reportedly initiated proceedings against him.

He procured the job, promotion and service benefits claiming self as member of SC community.

Under compliance of law he will now be stripped of the job. Besides he is liable to face legal action.
