NATIONAL: The North-East United Forum Bengaluru Sunday said it is deeply saddened by the deaths of four men from the northeastern region who were found dead in a rented room in Hoskote, eastern Bengaluru, under mysterious circumstances. According to reports, the deceased were male workers from Lakhimpur district of Assam who had been working at a Coca-Cola warehouse for three months.
The forum demanded thorough investigation into the incident and unearth the truth.
The victims have been identified as Dhananjoy Taid, Nirendra Nath Taid, Doctor Taid and Jayanta Chintey, all belonging to the Mising community of Assam. Post-mortem examinations have revealed high levels of carbon monoxide in all four bodies indicating that they may have died from carbon monoxide inhalation in a closed room with insufficient ventilation.
The exact cause of death will be determined once the official post-mortem reports are released. Initial findings suggest that a rice vessel was left cooking on a gas stove, causing smoke and carbon monoxide to build up and leading to fatal suffocation.
The investigation is ongoing, with local police and investigating authorities working to determine the exact circumstances of the deaths.
