AGARTALA: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Tuesday reiterated that the current state government represents all citizens and aims to build trust through its initiatives. At a foundation stone-laying ceremony for five city development projects within the Agartala Municipal Corporation limits, he outlined several projects aimed at enhancing public services, particularly in the areas of drinking water, sanitation and urban development.
Main projects include the construction of a 5.50 MLD water treatment plant, a 1,000-kiloliter overhead tank and the installation of five deep tube-wells, and expanding water pipeline infrastructure to benefit 1,000 families.
Chief Minister stated that Jal Jeevan Mission aims to ensure clean drinking water access to every village and household, highlighting that 85% of homes in Agartala have already received connections with a goal of reaching 100%.
The Agartala Smart City project has seen 65 projects completed at a cost of Rs 580 crores, focusing on making the city modern, clean and well-serviced besides restoring historical sites. The event included presentations of developmental works by the Jal Board and was attended by ward councillors and senior government officials.
