
Reviewed execution of various central developmental projects

NATIONAL, February 26, 2025: Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma visited Shamator district in Nagaland for two days to review socio-economic progress. This is the first Central Minister to visit the district post-independence.
Varma reviewed the implementation of various developmental projects funded by the central government, including the PWD Department, Rural Development and physical infrastructure. He also interacted with officials from the Community Health Centre and distributed Ayushman Health Cards to beneficiaries.
The minister met with students at Government Higher Secondary School, Shamator. He hailed the newly formed Shamator district as a District of Aspirations and urged all communities to benefit from the inclusive policies of the central government. Varma was accompanied by Advisor Keoshu Yimchunger, President Tribal Council Thrungso, Colonel Archit Goswami, 14 Assam Rifles and district officials.
