Woman finds her 11 FDs missing in bank, moves police

AGARTALA, February 03, 2025: A retired female government employee lodged complaint with the police after discovering that her fixed deposits were missing. This shocking incident took place in Udaipur, headquarters of the Gomati district in Tripura.
The customer, Sunidhi Datta Sen, has 11 fixed deposits (FD) with the local branch of the HDFC Bank, India's leading private sector bank. The fiddle came to light after she approached the bank for payment upon maturity of one of her accounts.
The bank failed to pay her on her demand following due process, citing the FD is untraceable. She received further shock when inquired about the rest.
All her 11 FDs were undetectable. After waiting for some days to get the matter fixed by the bank authorities, she approached the Gomati district superintendent of police for redress.
No official from HDFC Bank responded to queries from the news media.
