AGARTALA, July 08, 2025: In a significant move towards strengthening the organic agriculture sector, the Tripura Agricultural and Farmers Welfare Minister will inaugurate the first-ever State Level Organic Buyer-Seller Conference on July 9 at a private hotel in Agartala. This landmark event is organised by the Tripura State Organic Farming Development Agency (TSOFDA) under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Tripura.

This pioneering initiative aims to position Tripura as a hub for organic produce by bringing together prominent organic buyers from India and abroad. The buyers will have the opportunity to directly engage with organic Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) from the state, fostering meaningful collaborations and long-term partnerships.

The conference will showcase Tripura's many finest organic agricultural products including fragrant rice varieties such as Kalikhasa and Harinarayan, rare Black Rice (Maimi Hangar), Sticky Rice (Biran), Bird Eye Chilli, Fragrant Lemon (Gandharaj), as well as Sesame, Ginger, Turmeric, Foxtail Millet, Queen and Kew Pineapple.

This conference not only marks a first for Tripura but also opens new avenues for our farmers by directly connecting them with premium markets. It is a significant step towards boosting farmer incomes and promoting Tripura's organic identity on a global scale.
