REGIONAL, June 09, 2025: Nagaland has been a frontrunner in the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA), a campaign aimed at promoting agricultural technology and enhancing food and income security. From May 29 to June the state engaged 70,169 farmers across 746 villages, demonstrating community-led participation under the national vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
The campaign has seen active involvement from farmers, farm women, rural youth, self-help groups and farmer producer organizations. Over 10,000 farmers participated in awareness activities, technical interaction, and distribution of extension literatures.
The campaign has also received support from state policymakers, administrators and technocrats. Nagaland's rich biodiversity and traditional farming system make it an ideal location for integrating improved agricultural technologies with indigenous knowledge systems.
The VKSA campaign aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and contributes to India's dream of becoming a five-trillion-dollar economy. As the campaign continues until June 12th, more milestones are expected, reflecting the spirit of a farmer’s participatory movement towards developing the state agricultural economy.
