AGARTALA, December 06, 2025: Two youths were injured due to BSF firing while attempting to smuggle goods across the India-Bangladesh border at Putia in Sepahijala district Saturday. Initially taken to Bishalgarh Hospital, they were later transferred to GBP Hospital in Agartala for serious injuries.
The youths identified as Saddam Hossain and Sonu Miah reportedly did not heed warnings before the shooting occurred. Although some reports suggest the injured may be minors, this remains unconfirmed.
The incident coincides with heightened BSF vigilance and similar firing incidents have been noted in recent weeks, often justified by the BSF as self-defense.
