GLOBAL, August 06, 2025:  US President Donald Trump Wednesday imposed an additional 25% tariff on Indian goods as a penalty for New Delhi's continued purchase of Russian oil.

The decision will significantly impact India's bilateral relations with the US.

Trump signed an executive order imposing the additional tariff less than 14 hours before the initial tariffs were set to take effect. The total tariff on Indian goods will be 50%.
