Tripura government mulls 100% vaccination in schools

AGARTALA, January 18 2022: Tripura health department will launch a special vaccination campaign in all government and private schools. The programme to cover students aged between 15 and 18 will get underway tomorrow, said education minister Ratan Lal Nath.
The minister informed that vaccination by mobile teams of health volunteers would spread out the campaign on January 19, 20 and 21. The state government plans to provide 100 percent vaccination in all schools across the state.
Education Minister paid a visit to several schools in the state capital as a prelude to vaccination campaign. He also discussed current phase of Covid-19 situation with the school officials.
Minister informed that the schools which will complete target vaccination will be handed District School Health Champion Award as a matter of encouragement. State government has also pressed all precautionary measures and amended restrictions to avert risks concerning students.
Meanwhile Tripura government has ordered complete closure of classes from pre-primary level to Class 7. Higher classes will function on rotation basis with 50 percent attendance.
