Tripura CM hails tripartite agreement to address tribal issues

AGARTALA, March 02, 2024: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has hailed the signing of a tripartite agreement aimed at resolving issues pertaining to the indigenous people of the state. The agreement was signed between TIPRA, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Tripura government in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi Saturday.
Speaking at a news conference, Chief Minister Dr Saha stated that the current goal of both the state and central government is to support the people by resolving issues, rather than creating them. He echoed the statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, describing the signing as a historic moment for Tripura, and emphasised the government's commitment to maintaining peace and harmony in the state.
Dr Saha expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Tipra Motha Founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma for their roles in reaching the agreement. He also urged all parties involved to refrain from any form of protest in order to maintain a peaceful environment and move forward with the agreement.
