Tripura CM chairs high level meeting on Covid-19

AGARTALA, April 09, 2020: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb chaired a high level meeting to review current health situation in the state. Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar and senior officials and prominent physicians attended.
The meeting discussed latest situation as well as measures and all other relevant issues. The meeting attained importance in view of detection of first coronavirus infection in the state.
Family members and close relatives of the 45-year-old patient sent to institutional quarantine while contacts traced were put under home quarantine. Family members were tested twice and reports came negative.
Besides, two localities were completely sealed in case connection. 34 medical staffs including a few doctors of the GBP Hospital where the woman was admitted with fever were placed under observation as a precautionary measure.
The meeting chaired by the Chief Minister decided to support 8666 street vendors who are facing problems due to lockdown with a financial assistance of Rs 1000 each.
Chief Minister Deb later said that the meeting analyzed latest situation and discussed various issues before adopting some important decisions to fight the pandemic. “We will leave no stone unturned to overcome this situation”, he added.
