AGARTALA, November 22, 2025: After returning to Agartala from a "One North East" meeting in Delhi, Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Saturday affirmed that the Tipra faction's presence in the BJP-led coalition will persist despite ongoing tensions with the BJP in the hills. He proposed a high-level meeting with police and BJP officials to address the ongoing unrest.
He said the party is set to hold a rally on November 27 at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala, which will be attended by top leaders from North East regional parties, including Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and a leader from the Gorkhaland movement. This rally aims to strengthen a collaborative platform among these regional parties.
Responding to a query about his reported demand from the Home Department, Deb Burman stated he would discuss this with Minister Animesh Debbarma and thought his party leader’s reaction in reference to the recent violent incident was a democratic means.
Pradyot later visited ILS Hospital to meet with ailing State BJP President Rajiv Bhattacharjee.
