AGARTALA, May 26 2023: Leaders of Tripura’s main opposition party TIPRA held a squatting stir at the entrance of the Raj Bhavan here Friday after they failed to meet the Governor to place set of demands. One of demands was to seek his intervention for allocation of fund for functioning of the tribal autonomous district council or the TTAADC.
TIPRA Chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarman led the delegation of party MLAs, senior leaders and ruling ranks of the TTAADC. They however failed to see Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya in absence of prior appointment.
The brass of the regional party which has 13 MLAs held a squatting stir on the entrance compound to vent anger. It said the denial of the meeting was intentional.
TIPRA alleged the state government is not releasing balance Rs 126.59 crore from total Rs 619.25 crore allocated to the TTAADC and the Governor must intervene as being the constitutional head of the state.
Pradyot Kishore Debbarman later tweeted “No matter what you say we will never give up our fight for our people! Think for the next generation fight now”.
