AGARTALA, November 17, 2024: Leaders of the new tribal party have accused the leadership of TIPRA Motha and the IPFT of deceiving the indigenous people of Tripura for their own personal and political gain. They have specifically targeted TIPRA Motha founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, accusing him of frequently changing his demands in order to avoid taking a firm stance on the issue of Greater Tipraland. 

During the launch of their new party, the State Democratic Party (SDP), one of the leaders commented, "I want to tell Pradyot Sir to continue deceiving the tribals until they are completely wiped out." 

They further alleged that some leaders have “used their skill” to benefit themselves by joining the coalition government and gaining control of the tribal autonomous district council. These leaders, including Pradyot Debbarman have compromised on the rights and aspirations of the indigenous people of Tripura, they added. 

Mentionable that TIPRA Motha has one cabinet and one state minister in the BJP-led coalition government, while IPFT has one ministerial position.
