The BJP is focused for welfare of indigenous people: CM
Said aligned with directions set by Prime Minister Modi

AGARTALA, April 08, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha stated Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seriously working towards the welfare of the indigenous people of the state. He also mentioned that the incumbent BJP led state government is aligned with directions set by Prime Minister Modi who is dedicated to the overall welfare of the tribals.
“Our government is also committed to this cause”, he said.
"If indigenous people join the BJP, it will strengthen both the country and the state," said Dr. Saha. He made these remarks while participating in a (BJP) party programme in Takarjala celebrating the foundation day of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The Chief Minister further added that the programme was organised for the party members and important issues were discussed. Around 140 members from 50 families joined the BJP during this programme, mainly from the Congress and CPIM.
"On behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party, I welcome them," he stated. He urged the indigenous community people to join the BJP, stating that both PM Modi and the state government have their best interests in mind.
He also mentioned that the government is no longer just the BJP, but also includes IPFT and Tipra Motha. "We will discuss and decide on the next strategy with all parties. ”The top leadership of the tribal wing of the BJP was present at the programme," he added.
