AGARTALA, October 24, 2024: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has announced plans to construct a super specialty hospital in Dhalai District, which has faced numerous challenges in the past. The state government has allocated around 15% of the state budget to address these issues in the aspirational district.
Dr Saha made this announcement while launching the Mukhyamantri Sustho Shaishob Sustho Koishore Abhiyan (MSSSKA) in Ambassa, headquarters of Dhalai district Thursday.
The main objective of MSSSKA-7.0 is to provide medical assistance to children and adolescents aged 0 to 19 years who are dealing with diarrhoea, worm infestations, and anomia. This year, the programme will also address and treat diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
Chief Minister provided updates on the progress of MSSSKA stating that in the first stage 10 lakh beneficiaries were covered, accounting for around 93% of the target. This year's target is 11 lakh and 36,000 beneficiaries with 97% of treatments now available in Tripura.
The Chief Minister emphasised the state government's commitment to building a medical hub which will reduce the need for people to travel outside the state and spend money. He also highlighted the success of the first kidney transplant in Tripura.
