AGARTALA, March 01, 2025: The CPI(M) affiliated student organisation SFI, along with TSU and Congress' NSUI, have called for a thorough investigation into allegations of academic corruption at Tripura Medical College, located near Agartala. These groups have accused officials and faculty members of accepting large sums of money from medical students in exchange for passing marks in their MBBS courses.
They argue that this practice compromises the integrity of the academic system and undermines the hard work and dedication of students. In protest the SFI and TSU have submitted a memorandum to the Director of Medical Education urging Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha who also holds the education and health portfolios to intervene.
The state police's Crime Branch (CB) has already launched an investigation into the matter with a particular focus on a female faculty member.
