CM requests centre to start international flights from Agartala
He highlighted improvements made in state such as the HIRA model

AGARTALA, February 01, 2025: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has requested the Central government to start international flight services from MBB Airport as soon as possible. He asserted that development is his top priority and the state government is continuously working towards it.
Dr Saha made these remarks during a foundation stone unveiling ceremony of an administrative building in Agartala Saturday. He suggested that the proposed building should have seven floors to provide more spacious office areas and ensure convenience for work.
The estimated cost of the project is ₹17 crore and it is expected to be completed in 22 months. Dr Saha also reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision that development is crucial for progress and that socio-economic upliftment can help resolve many challenges.
He highlighted the improvements made in the state such as the HIRA model, improved communication system, and the introduction of Vande Bharat trains. The Chief Minister also praised the beauty of Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport and the increasing number of flights operating there.
He also urged the Central government to facilitate international flights from Agartala.
