Sage set for bi-annual DG level talks between the BSF and BGB
First high level bilateral talks after ouster of PM Sheikh Hasina

NATIONAL, February 16, 2025: The bi-annual DG level talks between the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is set for February 17 to 20 in New Delhi. This will be the first high level bilateral security talks since the change of government in Bangladesh after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was ousted in August 2024.
India has a 4,096-km border with Bangladesh, with 800 km unfenced. BSF DG Daljit Singh Chaudhary and BGB chief Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui will attend.
Meeting agenda includes discussions on border killings, illegal infiltration, smuggling, human trafficking and water-sharing. The last talks were held in Dhaka and the October 2024 meeting was postponed due to political unrest in Bangladesh.
