Agartala Municipal Corporation's ISL 2.0 Swachhata Rally

AGARTALA, September 17 2023: In a remarkable demonstration of community solidarity and a steadfast commitment to cleanliness, the Agartala Municipal Corporation achieved a historic milestone today by organizing the ISL 2.0 Swachhata Rally Sunday. This grand event, which took place under the azure skies of Agartala, not only set a new record for the entire North East region but also left an indelible mark on the city's dedication to cleanliness.
With more than 3000 spirited volunteers in attendance, the rally commenced from the prestigious Umakanta Academy Ground and culminated at the iconic Ujjayanta Palace. The primary objectives were to champion the cause of "Swachhata" (Cleanliness), foster youth involvement in maintaining a pristine city, and underscore the importance of source segregation of waste.
Preparations for the rally were nothing short of extraordinary, as the Agartala Municipal Corporation undertook the mammoth task of cleaning and permanently removing 51 notorious garbage hotspots across the city. This Herculean effort transformed Agartala into a cleaner and more inviting urban landscape.
The event received an auspicious start as the Finance Minister of Tripura, Shri Pranajit Singha Roy, enthusiastically flagged off and inaugurated the rally. His words of praise for the city's unwavering commitment to cleanliness resonated with the attendees.
Mayor Dipak Majumder, standing at the forefront, symbolized Agartala’s dedication to the noble cause. Joining him were Deputy Mayor Manika Das Datta, Municipal Improvement Committee members, Corporators, and the Director of Urban Tripura, Rajat Pant, who played pivotal roles in ensuring the event's success. The Additional Municipal Commissioner AMC Muhammad Sajjad P warmly welcomed all guests and delegates.
This historic event stands as a testament to Agartala's unswerving devotion to a cleaner and greener future, which is driven by the active participation of its conscientious citizens. It's noteworthy that more than 200 NCC cadets, students from schools and colleges across the city, and passionate young volunteers from local youth clubs passionately lent their support, making this rally an unqualified triumph.
