Rajnath Singh slams Rahul Gandhi for wrongly quoting COAS

“Observations were about temporary disruption of traditional patrolling”

NATIONAL, February 04, 2025: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh Tuesday criticised remarks made by LoP Rahul Gandhi on the Chief of the Army Staff's (COAS) purported statement on the India-China border. Singh claimed that the Army Chief's observations were about the temporary disruption of traditional patrolling patterns on both sides of the border. 

Singh stated that these practices have been restored following recent disengagement efforts. He clarified that the Army Chief's words were never stated by him and stressed the importance of accuracy and responsible discourse on national security matters. 

The Defence Minister also highlighted the historical facts of Indian Territory in Aksai Chin being under Chinese control since the 1962 conflict and territory ceded to Pakistan in 1963.
