NATIONAL, December 06, 2025: The Railways Saturday initiated the operation of 89 special train services over the next three days in response to a surge in demand for rail travel. This is particularly relevant amid ongoing flight cancellations and winter.

The decision aims to facilitate smooth travel and maintain adequate connectivity for passengers. The Central Railway has introduced 14 special train services covering popular routes such as Pune to Bengaluru, Pune to Delhi and Mumbai to Delhi.

The Western Railway is deploying seven special trains on routes including Bhiwani to Mumbai and Mumbai to Shakurbasti, providing enhanced transport options in those areas. The South Central Railway is operating three special train routes that connect Cherlapalli to Shalimar, Secunderabad to Chennai Egmore and Hyderabad to Mumbai.

These initiatives demonstrate the Railways' responsiveness to customer needs during peak travel times, according to officials.
