AGARTALA, April 02, 2025: As the Tripura has developed and has better connectivity now; it has immense prospects for investment. Investors should be encouraged to invest in the rubber, agar, pineapple and bamboo-based industries. As such, this matter should be focused more on attracting investors.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha made the statement at the preparatory meeting of the Ministry of DoNER’s High Level Task Force at the secretariat Wednesday. He said various sectors have prospects for investment in the state.
In this context, each and every department should be working with a definite plan. The state government has been focusing on Land Reforms and Ease of Doing Business to provide different facilities to investors.
At the meeting, the Chief Minister also said tourism is one such sector that can have massive investment. So it should be brought into the limelight more and more.
The facilities available for investors in the state should also be highlighted to investors. Recently, the state government has signed a number of MoUs with several companies.
But after that, our focus should be on the implementation of those MoUs.
Chief secretary JK Sinha and secretaries of various departments also highlighted different aspects of investment. Kiran Gitte, secretary of the Sushason department, presented a report on the investment prospects of the Northeastern states.
It is noteworthy that it was decided in the 72nd plenary meeting of the NEC held at Agartala on December 21, 2024, that this High Level Task Force would be constituted. The Chief Minister, Dr Manik Saha, is acting as the Convener of this Task Force.
