Explosion kills 21 in firecracker warehouse in Gujarat
Family members of workers were also crushed to death

NATIONAL, April 01, 2025: An explosion and blaze broke through a firecracker storage godown in Banaskantha district of Gujarat killing 21 people and injuring six others Tuesday. The warehouse was allegedly illegally stored firecrackers.
The blast caused the structure to collapse, causing workers to fly 200–300 meters away. This also led to the collapse of the RCC slab of the structure causing even family members of workers to be crushed to death.
The cause of the explosion is being investigated by forensic teams. The structure, Deepak Traders, was owned by father-son duo Deepak Mohnani and Khubchand Mohnani.
An FIR was registered and five teams have been formed for investigation. Some people have been detained for questioning, police said.
