Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana special registration drive

Extended till August 15; 4.05 Cr Women already benefited

NATIONAL, August 04, 2025: The Ministry of Women and Child Development extended the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) registration drive until August 15. The scheme provides financial assistance to support nutritious diets and improve health-seeking behaviour among pregnant and lactating women, promoting positive attitudes towards the girl child.

Since its inception, over 4.05 crore beneficiaries have received maternity benefits, amounting to ₹19,028 Cr, through direct benefit transfer in their bank or post office accounts. The scheme is implemented by officials of States and UTs through their field functionaries using the new Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana Software (PMMVYSoft), which uses digital Aadhaar authentication and National Payment Corporations of India (NPCI) verification.

The portal has been updated to ensure smoother delivery and greater coverage, including an Integrated Grievance Module, a multi-lingual and toll-free PMMVY Helpline, Aadhar-based biometric authentication using Facial Recognition System (FRS) and a due-list of potential PMMVY beneficiaries.
