BSNL and NRL sig MoU to empower central public sector enterprises

REGIONAL, August 03, 2025: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate India's digital transformation and industrial modernisation. The MoU aims to empower Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) to embrace transformative Industry 4.0 technologies, such as 5G CNPN, Digital Twins, 3D Printing with AI, Virtual Formulation, AR/VR/MR, IoT and Big Data Analytics to raise innovation, efficiency and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The MoU will enable India's first 5G CNPN to be deployed within the refinery sector, fostering secure, ultra-reliable and real-time industrial connectivity. The initiative is seen as a shining example of the Government's "Whole of Government" approach, which can modernise India's industrial base, promote advanced skilling and generate employment opportunities, particularly in the North Eastern Region.

The partnership is expected to set the stage for replicable models across other industrial sectors reinforcing the Government of India's vision for a digitally empowered and self-reliant Bharat.
