Police capture four NLFT militants, seize arms

AGARTALA, January 12 2020: Extremist groups have resurfaced once again in the state. A few days ago BSF IG Sushant Kumar told newsmen that the activities of the NLFT (National Liberation Front of Tripura) were noticed for past one year.
With days of his warning TSR contingents led by senior police officials arrested four NLFT militants from the upper Dhanyachhara area of Takarjala late on Monday night. The troops acted on credential intelligence inputs.
The four militants were identified as Lal Than Reang, Jiban Reang, Ganaram Reang and Singhghmani Reang. Two foreign made pistols, live ammunitions and articles recovered from their possession.
The four NLFT militants were brought to the New Capital Complex police station in Agartala on Tuesday morning for questioning.
On December 24, four Myanmar trained NLFT militants surrendered to state’s DGP VS Yadav and deposited automatic weapons.
