Opponents kill 2 tribal activists in Bangladesh hills

AGARTALA, September 18, 2019: In ongoing factional feud two members of former extremist outfit Jana Sanghati Samiti (JSS) were shot dead in Rangamati district’s Baghaichhari in Chittagong Hill Tracts in southeast Bangladesh.
Bangladesh police said the attack occurred at Nabachhara village before dawn on Wednesday. All three districts in the hill tracts have been witnessing target and secret killings in recent months.
The deceased have been identified as Ripel Chakma, 25 and Barshan Chakma, 24.They were members of the MN Larma faction of the JSS.
Heavily armed assailants shot them dead.
JSS’ Santu Larma faction has been blamed for the incident.
