GLOBAL, August 26, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden Monday discussed various regional and global issues including the situation in Ukraine over the phone. Modi expressed his appreciation for Biden's commitment to the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, which is based on democratic values, the rule of law and strong people-to-people ties.
The two leaders also reviewed the progress made in bilateral relations and stressed on the partnership's goal of benefiting both countries and humanity as a whole. Modi briefed Biden on his recent visit to Ukraine and reiterated India's support for dialogue and diplomacy in resolving the war situation there.
He also expressed concern over the situation in Bangladesh and stressed the importance of restoring law and order and ensuring the safety and security of the minorities.
Prime Minister and US President pledged to strengthen cooperation in multilateral forums including the Quad.
