Measures to check Coronavirus pandemic in Tripura

AGARTALA, March 25, 2020: Tripura Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar has outlined series of measures to tackle Coronavirus epidemic in the state. He said the ‘action taken package’ of the government is aimed at protecting people from getting infected with the deadly virus.
He listed the measures stating that
- Epidemic Diseases Act,1897 has been invoked in the state
- Curfew has been announced in the entire state from 2pm on March 24 to 5pm of March 31.Offices will run with skeleton staff. Prohibitory order under section 144 issued banning assembly of 3 or more people
- International and Interstate borders have been sealed
- A task force of senior officers under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary has been constituted for tackling the crisis
- War room has been set up at state headquarters under Additional Chief Secretary rank officer
- District level control rooms have been setup under control of District Magistrates
- A control room has been setup separately in the Health department
- People are being made aware about importance of social distancing and for staying at home through electronic media, newspapers, address system, social media etc
- Welfare measures have been announced for poor people and daily labourers.
