Kottayam, February 06, 2020: KM Mammen, Chairman, Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association and Chairman and Managing Director of MRF Ltd will inaugurate India Rubber Meet 2020, the fifth edition in the series, in Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu onFebruary 28. The two days Event will be held on 28 & 29 February at Radisson Blu Resort Temple Bay. Dr SawarDhanania, Chairman of Rubber Board, will be the Guest of Honour during the inaugural function.
The Meet is a regular forum for interaction, networking and exchange of information with representation of stakeholder associations from all segments of the rubber industry, the media and the Rubber Board.IRM 2020 is organised under the aegis of India Rubber Meet Forum (IRMF), a society formed jointly by Rubber Board and the stakeholder associations in rubber and related sectors.
The theme of IRM 2020 is ‘Rubber Resurgence through Innovation’ and is expected to cover the challenges and opportunities of rubber sector and strategies for sustenance with special emphasis on innovations. There will be invited talks by internationally renowned speakers on topics such as Outlook for Global as well as Indian NR Industry, Synthetic Rubber Industry, Innovation experiences in Rubber Sector, Global and Indian economic outlook, Impact of the state of the economy on rubber industry, Global economy and commodity prices, Outlook for tyre and non tyre manufacturing sectors.
The speakers include Salvatore Pinizzotto (Secretary General, International Rubber Study Group), RB Premadasa (Secretary General, Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries, Kaula Lumpur), Sanjit Prasad (Managing Director, Indian Commodity Exchange, Mumbai), Picheat Prommoon (CEO, International Rubber Consortium Ltd., Bangkok), Patrick Yeo (Director (Commodities) in Global Sales, Straits Financial Group, Singapore), Dr KN Raghavan (Executive Director, Rubber Board), Rajiv Budhraja (Director General, Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association, New Delhi), VT Chandrasekharan (President, All India Rubber Industries Association, Mumbai) and Rajendra Gandhi (Managing Director, GRP Ltd., Mumbai).
There will be international/national level Panel Discussionschaired by Mr.Sankara N Nair, Chairman, Malaysian Rubber Boardand Dr KN RaghavanIRS, Executive Director, Rubber Board respectively. Experts and key stakeholders from different segments of rubber industry across the world will participate in Panel Discussions. A special session on sharing of innovation experiences of growers, processors, trading companies, MSMEs etc., chaired by Dr AK Krishnakumar, former Rubber Production Commissioner & Adviser, M/s Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services will also be there.
A national level organising committee under the chairmanship of Dr KN Raghavan, Executive Director, Rubber Board with the representation of all segments of the rubber industry, is constituted to formulate and organise the event. The committee includes representatives of small and large rubber growers, rubber processors and traders, tyre and non-tyre sectors, auto component manufacturers, rubber product exporters, synthetic rubber and reclaimed rubber manufacturers, rubber research and skill development institutions and media dealing with rubber.
