Jitendra Singh: India’s deep-sea mission by end of next year
“Marine resource is one area that needs to be fully explored”

NATIONAL, December 11, 2024: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh Wednesday emphasised the importance of exploring unexplored or under-explored sectors for achieving India's 2047 goal. Speaking at a programme he stated that by the end of next year, India will be able to commission its deep-sea mission and that marine resource is one area that needs to be fully explored.
He also underscored the importance of Himalayan resources for states like Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Singh also highlighted the need for optimal industry linkage between academia and industry. He highlighted the success of startups in Lavender, where J&K has around 3000 lavender startups.
Singh stressed the need to build a linkage between academia and industry to achieve the target of 1.7 lakh startups in India, claiming third position in the world. He also mentioned that his government is contemplating to float a national resource foundation design on a global strategy to achieve the target 2047.
