India’s Operation Sagar Bandhu helps cyclone hit Sri Lanka
IAF rescued six critically injured people and four infants Sunday

GLOBAL, November 30, 2025: Indian Air Force choppers Sunday evacuated 45 people, including six critically injured people and four infants, from Sri Lanka’s Kotmale region, which was severely hit by the trail of a recent cyclone.
The Operation Sagar Bandhu to support Sri Lanka after Cyclone Ditwah's devastation included the rescue of 12 Indian nationals and foreign nationals as well as Sri Lankan citizens. 57 Sri Lankan Army personnel were also airlifted to aid rescue efforts.
Reports said the IAF facilitated the return of 323 Indian nationals to India by 8 pm.
