Iconic cultural figures from northeast India remembered
IFFI 2025 closing presents powerful celebration of nation's cultural diversity

NATIONAL, November 28, 2025: The Closing Ceremony of the 2025 International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Friday celebrated India's rich cultural diversity by showcasing its folk traditions, classical heritage and modern artistic achievements. The event featured a Northeast Cultural Showcase curated by Ranjit Gogoi, which included a two-part presentation highlighting the region's impact on Indian cinema and featuring all eight Northeastern states.
The first part showcased high-energy dances inspired by iconic artists such as Dr Bhupen Hazarika, RD Burman and Zubeen Garg. The second part presented a folk showcase with traditional dances capturing the region's music, rhythm, and colourful cultural traditions with performances from artists representing Rajasthan, Karnataka, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura, Sikkim, Manipur, Nagaland and Meghalaya.
This Closing Ceremony stood as a comprehensive national showcase at one of the world's most prominent film platforms. It brought together artists from various states, making it a truly comprehensive national event.
