IAF flies Sukhoi 30 to mark 57th Statehood Day

KOHIMA, December 1, 2019: The Indian Air Force, Headquarter Eastern Air Command, Shillong flew three superior multi role state of the art fighter aircraft Sukhoi 30 MKI from Chabua airbase to Kisama, to commemorate the 57th Statehood Day Sunday.
The Aircraft flying in VIC Formation of 102 Squadron also called as trisonics were led by WG CDR, Aditya Suhag and GP CAPT. Vipul Mishra.
The Indian Air Force while defending the country’s airspace also carries out critical peacetime role. During last year landslides in the State, the Helicopter Unit under Headquarter Eastern Air Command, were also involved extensively in casualty evacuation and airdropped essential commodities at Peren, Phek, Mon and Tuensang districts in co-ordination with the State Disaster Management Authorities.
