REGIONAL, October 07, 2025: The Health Financing Forum for Cross-State Learning in the Northeast Region commenced in Dimapur Tuesday. Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang, who graced the event organised by the Nagaland government and the World Bank, felt need for financial reforms to ensure equitable healthcare, highlighting the forum as a platform for sharing ideas among policymakers and health professionals.
He underscored the importance of the Result-Based Financing (RBF) model in improving service delivery accountability and performance.
The FinHealth Assessment Report detailing health financing reforms was released during the inaugural programme. Anoop Khinchi, the Commissioner of Health, highlighted the forum's goal of improving health systems and promoting evidence-based policies.
Marion Cros from the World Bank praised the resilience of North-Eastern states in healthcare despite challenges noting initiatives like universal health insurance schemes and RBF implementation in various states.
