Governor Bhalla visits remote district to review development
He praised NEEPCO for its contributions to energy sector at Doyang

REGIONAL, September 29, 2025: Nagaland Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla's official visit to Wokha district included engagements focused on reviewing developmental initiatives and interacting with key stakeholders. He was welcomed at the Assam Rifles Camp with a Guard of Honour before visiting Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, highlighting his interest in education and youth development.
At the Doyang Hydroelectric Power Station, the Governor met with officials from the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO), where he praised their contributions to the energy sector, community outreach and sustainable development efforts.
Accompanied by his spouse and senior officials, Bhalla emphasised the importance of NEEPCO in fostering regional economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for citizens. He also reflected on his experience as a seasoned civil servant and his commitment to governance in Nagaland.
The Doyang project commissioned in 2000 boasts an installed capacity of 75 megawatts and plays a vital role in meeting Nagaland's energy needs contributing to infrastructure development and employment opportunities thereby reinforcing its importance to the state’s development strategy.
