Commended the author for making works available to the public

REGIONAL, May 26, 2025: Mizoram Governor and Chief Rector of Mizoram University General (R) VK Singh Monday released three books authored by Prof Laltluangliana Khiangte, Dean of the School of Humanities and Languages at Mizoram University.
The books, titled 'Anti-Colonial Chieftainess: Lalnu Ropuiliani', 'Indigenous Tribal Warrior: Pasaltha Khuangchera' and 'Anti-Colonial Hero: Mizo Lal Zakapa' were released at the Seminar Hall of the Academic & Seminar Complex at MZU.
In his address Governor Singh expressed his appreciation for the publication of these three books, which shed light on Mizo history, culture and the soul of the state. He commended the author for making these works available to the public and praised Prof Laltluangliana Khiangte for his contributions and expertise in literature, education, and the preservation of Mizo heritage.
The Governor also highlighted the national recognitions that Prof Laltluangliana Khiangte has received, including the Padma Shri (2006), Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2018), and Rastriya Lok Bhasha Samman (2003), which reflect his monumental contributions to Indian arts and culture. He further stated that although the three historical figures - Lalnu Ropuiliani, Pasaltha Khuangchera, and Lal Zakapa - came from different backgrounds, their brave resistance against colonial rulers and refusal to be subjugated by them is truly commendable.
The book release function was commenced by MZU Vice Chancellor Prof Dibakar Chandra Deka, who delivered a welcome speech, followed by a short speech from the author, Prof Laltluangliana Khiangte. Dr Samuel L Chuaungo from the Department of Sociology at MZU reviewed 'Anti-Colonial Chieftainess: Lalnu Ropuiliani'; Dr R Zothanliana from the Department of Mizo at MZU reviewed 'Indigenous Tribal Warrior: Pasaltha Khuangchera' and Dr H Laldinmawia from the Department of Mizo at PUC reviewed 'Anti-Colonial Hero: Mizo Lal Zakapa'.
