Government to ensure quality in educational institutions: CM
Nipun Mission has 1,50,000 students and 12,000 teachers in Tripura

AGARTALA, February 06, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Thursday announced the state government's main objective of ensuring quality education in educational institutions. He underscored the importance of strengthening children's foundation from an early age and felt the need for low-cost teaching-learning materials.
He said the Education Department has taken the initiative to identify and address gaps in the education system, with a target of achieving basic literacy and numeracy skills by 2026-27.
The Nipun Mission, launched nationwide in July 2021 aims to produce good results in all schools with around 1,50,000 students and around 12,000 teachers involved in Tripura. The Nipun Tripura Mission covers 4,227 government and government-aided schools with 10,182 teachers and approximately 90,000 students.
Dr Saha highlighted the necessity for innovative teaching methods in classrooms and the need for sustainable materials. The competition was first organized at the block level, with 20 materials selected from each district.
